I was watching a news channel on the eve of India’s Republic Day when I heard that one of my favourite doctors had been awarded the Padma Bhushan.
This doctor has done tremendous work among the underprivileged. Some people work for fame, but others offer selfless service. The second category, like this doctor, deserves all praise and encouragement with such awards.

In 2005, the 24 civilians massacred was done by a US Marine in Iraq was given 3 months in prosecution, was a welcoming one. This was due to the Marine Sargeant’s guilty, and his action. Kathambari.She is supposed to come today,but Postponed her return,because of her friend’s compulsion.

To a bright future Letter Published in Gulf News,UAE ON 24,jAN12.
The comment on Libya was a good read (‘Libya looking for partners’, Gulf News, January 19). After so many years, the Libyan people are freed from the dictatorship of Muammar Gaddafi and now it is only logical that they are looking for the progress of their country. One of the world’s richest oil nations will overcome the current crisis and regain its original position. I am confident that many countries will come forward and help, and the UAE will certainly play a major role.

Tribute to Cinematographer Ashok Mehta.(178).
Today i am going to pen another interesting film personality from Bolly wood film industry is non other then Cinematographer Ashok Mehta.He has more then Twenty five films to his credit.Many top class actors of today’s bolly wood acted in his films.Good
neat indoor and out door shots are more visible in his movies.I have seen couple of films of this Cinemato grapher.Those films are,Chalte Chalte,Mandi,Aankhen,Ram Lakan,Gupt,Trimurtti, No Entry and Bandit queen are i remember. Trimurti,Gupt and other couple of films was successful ,from this stalwart.He was associated with many Popular Producers Like Gulshan Rai. He had his own identity for many years.Bolly wood known for it’s cinematography in the Global level,before much advancements.Today Cinematography plays a important roll in all regional language films.Today i am happy to tribute this Stalwart

Tragic ending for kidnapped guard Letter Published in The National,UAE on 23,Jan 12
Your article British guard’s body returned (January 22) was sad and painful to read.
The guard was kidnapped in 2007 and killed after four and a half years by the militants from Iraq.
His family and relatives were eager to see his return. I pray for the victim.

Whenever my friends arrive in Chennai from the UAE, they bring some of my favourite things, like dates and nuts. Recently, a friend brought my favourite toothpaste.
He was my roommate in the initial days when I landed in the UAE 17 years ago. I just love my UAE connection. My friend proved that friendship knows no boundaries.
